Pioneers

Walt Whitman, one of my favorite poets, wrote a song "Pioneers! O Pioneers!". We used his exclamations as the chorus for our song. We recently re-recorded and re-arranged it. I put a few photos of Pioneers below. Bucky wraps things up with a thoughtful gaze.
Pioneers

The trail is long from the mountainside
To the desert plains, down to the ocean bay
I followed it once when I was young
And the call was strong, with a song to lead the way.

           Pioneers, oh pioneers
          They’ll always find new frontiers.
In their hearts and on the land.
They’ll find a place to make their stand.

Along the journey we met one day.
Was it just by chance or meant to be that way?
To open hearts with open eyes,
For searching souls the wind offers her prize.

           Pioneers, oh pioneers
          They’ll always find new frontiers.
In their hearts and on the land.
They’ll find a place to make their stand.

There isn’t a place we cannot go;
There isn’t a single joy we cannot know.
There isn’t a moment we cannot make
As wide and open as the prairie winds do blow.

            Pioneers, oh pioneers
          They’ll always find new frontiers.
In their hearts and on the land.
They’ll find a place to make their stand.
