Trails Grown Dim
Trails grown dim
Where the grass has filled back in
The way was lost
To the places in my heart
Where the trails
And the memories got their start
Trails grown dim
Can come between old friends
As time goes by
They disappear around the bend
And start to fade
Until they seem so far away
As you try to remember
Maybe when you were very small
Was the weight of the world on your shoulders
As you recall ?
Trails grown dim
Can sometimes seem so distant
‘til you get back
a moment or an instant
then, that has a way
to make them seem like yesterday
every time that you return
a part of you is reclaimed
until the trail is easy to follow
and shows you the way
