I put a Bill Lawrence pickup in the small sound hole of this Martin model LXK2. I recorded the first 2 parts of this medley using the pickup, and I mic'ed it for the 3rd part. The Martin is a rugged travel guitar made of High Pressure Laminates (HPL) for the body and wood for the braces. Certainly not a full spectrum sound insofar as there isn't much bottom end, but it's a real joy to play because the intonation is perfect and I find myself getting a lot of song ideas every time I pick it up. For those with marginal rotator cuffs and circulation, this thing sits so nicely in you lap. It has inspired me to find a parlor sized wood guitar someday.
