Some Little Jewels on a Bike Ride from Idaho Springs to Georgetown
My Grandpa knew the depth and mineral compositions of every mine shaft and tunnel in Clear Creek County. He spoke highly of the Stanley operation which still stands.

According to Robert Brown in one of his Ghost Town books, this is the only place in the Continental US that a river empties into a creek. This is Fall River flowing into Clear Creek.
Old Store in Lawson Colorado. High on the mountain behind this place was Silver Creek, where Grandpa Harley Diltz and his Brother LeRoy worked circa 1905. LeRoy's kids went to school in this town.
Grandpa knew the proprietor of this old roadhouse which I believe dates back to the 1860's or '70's. It was on the old road between Downieville and lawson.
An unmarked grave in the cemetery below Georgetown. What was their story and were there Little Jewels in their life?
This old school house had fallen into decay for many years until the town of Georgetown wisely turned it back into a jewel.
Georgetown's pride and joy, and crowning jewel, long considered one of the top ten examples of Victorian architecture in the USA - - the Maxwell House.
